swimming publication has appeared these days, written by Prof.Dr.Tomislav
Okicic and the colleagues from Faculty of Sport, University of Nis. "The
affects of the different educational programs of non-swimmers on the swim
knowledge acceptance" - a design-project that can be useful for every
club and its beginners. It is written in the Serbian Cyrillic only (300

Meeting "Dzivdzan 2008". More the 430 youth athletes born in 1992

hosted the multination junior meet this past week-end.. The Central European
Countries Junior Meeting 2008 gathered the national selections of POL,
SLO, HUN, SRB, CZE, SVK, FYROM and ROU... From SRB team, three 4th positions
were caught by Stefan Sorak in 400 free (4:04.80) and in 1,500 free

with about 600 athletes took part in 5-day event.

SRB) - After he earned the worthy Bachelor degree in the USA (Olivet College,
MI) on May 2008, Igor Rasula, Journalist and the Editor-in-Chief
of our SWIM STAR WEB PORTAL, left Belgrade this afternoon for his
upcoming Masters education.. Full granted by the European Council and the
EU, Igor is admitted for the Erasmus
Mundus Masters Program in Journalism and Media within Globalization.
First semester will be spent at the elite Danish School of Journalism,
next one at the University of Amsterdam, while for the second year Igor
will be at the University of Wales (Great Britain). Master thesis which
Igor already has chosen will consider "War and Conflicts"... More great
swim news our visitors might expect from Denmark, the Netherlands
as well as from the British Swimming and all round the Europe!!!

the aquatory of the Zobnatica lake near the town of Backa Topola. In the

1/Rok Kerin (SLO) 1:44:15; 2/ Bojan Zivanovic (Becej) 1:59:53; 3/
Simon Robert (Becej) - 2:05:12.. Among females: 1/Agnes Prohaszka

In the Men's 100 m Fly final Milorad
Mike Cavic (1984), touched 2nd with the time of 50.59 in
just 1/100 seconds behind M.Phelps to earn silver Olympic Medal. This was
also his LBT, European Record and the National record. Phelps and
Cavic battled it out in the last 50m. After two wins in Beijing against
the best world flyers (in heats and SF) Cavic in 100 Fly final "granted"
Phelps with 0.01 seconds. Eight consecutive years at the World and
European events and three times at the Olympic Games (Sidney 2000, Athens
2004 and Beijing 2008) ), this guy from the USA brings only the glory for

events in the Water Cube NAC brought many happiness to Serbian swim fans.

Mike Cavic (1984) again confirmed the first world position in this
discipline. Among the 16 athletes in two SFs, this morning in the Beijing's
National Aquatic Center, he swam out with the top time (50.76), followed
again by Phelps (USA), Luterstein (AUS), Crocker (USA) and other
butterfly's stars. Miroslava Najdanovski canceled 50 Free heats...

successfully this past week-end in the town of Ada, Vojvodina Region, Serbia.

& finals brought more new WRS. In his 3rd Gold medal, Michael Phelps
(USA) set WR in 200m Free final. In the 200 Fly semis, Phelps equaled OR
with the time of 1:53.70. Aaron Peirsol (USA) finished with the
WR in 100 Back (52.54). Kirsty Coventry (ZIM) set the new OR in
200 IM semi finals (2:09.53). Daniel Gyurta (HUN) in the evening
heats set the new OR in 200 Breast (2:08.68). In the Men's 4x200m
Free relay, the USA squad set the new OR (7:04.66). Milorad Cavic
(SRB) swam out 100m Free with the new national record and his LBT
48.15 and was ranked 6th of 64 competitors in this event.

this past week-end in the town of Jagodina. 18 clubs with 233 competitors

back from Monterrey 2008 - FINA World Junior Championships that was held
in Mexico... At the Belgrade's airport, many fans, adorers, parents, as
well as the officials, etc., furiously expressed their welcome home the
SRBteam who succeeded to capture the 4 medals (Lenjder two Silvers and
Siladji Silver & Bronze)...
(Vrbas, SRB)-The
2008 Pioneer LC Championships of Serbia (YoB 1994/1995) concluded by the
50m out-door pool in the town of Vrbas SRB... 21 domestic clubs took
part in the events... Worthy results are set (by Celic, Repman, Draganov,

MEX) - The last session 12 of the 2nd World Junior Championships in Monterrey
concluded tonight in Mexico. Many fans of Caba Siladji (1990) expected
the final score in the men's 50-m breaststroke. As he was entered with
the best seed time (WJR 28.42) from the Semi Finals, Gold medal was very
near his hand. And Caba Siladji, the best junior breastroker of
Serbia ever, captured Silver with a time of 28.38. Serbia brings four medals
from Mexico overall. Congratulations !!!

2008 Open Water FINA Cup in Serbia, downstream of the Sava River near Sabac,
concluded successfully... 26 male and 18 female swimmers took part in the
19 K race.. Final rankings: 1/Brendan Capell (1984 - AUS) 2:39:57;
2/ Stephane Gomez (1976-FRA); 3/Danil Serebrenikov (1978
- RUS). Among women, the best time showed Anna Uvarova (1985 - RUS)- 2:48:22.

MEX) - The last day of the Monterrey 2008, morning heats finished successfully
for the 3 members of the SRB team. Ivan Kopas swam out 200 back
with the time of 2:06.51 (LBT) and was ranked 20th of 45 competitors. In
the 200 Breast, Jovana Bogdanovic (SC Beograd) touched 16th of 28
participants with the time of 2:38.91. Milica Ostojic (coached by
S.Filipovic) who set the new absolute NREC in 400m free (2 days ago), this
morning in 200 free heats she touched the wall as 10th of 52 competitors
with the time of 2:03.64 (new NREC). Now SRB Squad is waiting for the Siladji's
50 Breast final.

Saturday... In the men's 50 Fly Final, Ivan Lendjer captured Silver
medal with the time of 23.97 (behind Daniel Bell of New Zealand, 23.61
the new WJR). That is Lendjer's second Silver medal in Monterrey
and the new European Junior Record... Caba Siladji in the men's
50 Breast semis, touched 1st with the new World Junior Champs Record (28.42)

record holder, the World vice-champion (in 100 fly), Ivan Lendjer succeeded
this morning in the men's 50 fly to overcome all best junior times in this
discipline ever and set new World Champs Record with the time of 0:24.12.
In the same time he also captured the place for the evening Semi
Finals... Milica Ostojic in the women's 400 free set a new NREC
(4:24.51) and was ranked 20th (of 43). Caba Siladji ranked 19th

NED) - According to the final LEN decision that came yesterday after the
2-hour "investigation" by the officials of the LEN, the Serbia's
best swimmer is suspended for any other participation in the European Championships
in Eindhoven. Mike Cavic, the Euro record holder in 50-m Fly (23.11
- set on Wednesday) and Gold medalist, cannot continue the Euro championships.
The reason - the inscription on his T-shirt "Kosovo is Serbia" which has
been recognized as the "political message" in violation of the LEN
Guidelines for Safety and Security at LEN Events. The Serbian swimming
association has to pay 7,000 euro bearing the costs of the LEN Panel...

(1995), young and most talented swimmer of SC Vojvodina, died yesterday
since he didn't succeed in the struggle against the illness. In spite of

SRB) -- Organized by the Banat Swim Club, 3rd Int'l AG meet "Kikinda Cup
2008" is concluded this past week-end in Kikinda, SRB. More then 500 competitors
form 10 countries (POL, SVK. SLO, ROM, CRO, HUN, BiH, FYROM, MNE and SRB)
took part in 2-day events. Team rank:1/ SC Proleter (Zrenjanin); 2/ SC

SRB) - In front of the audience of more then 10,000 people in Zemun (part
of the City of Belgrade), the traditional event of the Serbian Orthodox
Church - the swimming race for the Holly Cross of the Epiphany (Bogojavljanje)
is organized by the 'Svibor' foundation. 60 competitors of all ages, including
2 females, finished the sprint race at the distance of 33 m (in not so
pleasant water of the Danube River). The fastest man was Dejan
Dimitrijevic from Zemun who earned at the worth gold cross of the Serbian
Church as well as other gifts...
