THA) - Last day at the swimming tournament in Bangkok, in the morning heats,
brought just one new Games record. In the Men's 100 m Backstroke, German
super star Helge Folkert MEEUW touched first with the new GR 53.85
Among the participants
from Serbian swim squad, in today's morning heats, Nadja Higl
took
part in 100
m Breast Women and was ranked 36th (of 40 participants) with the time
of 1:16.11... Radovan Siljevski swam out his 50
m Free Men (23.70) and was ranked 34thd (of 74)... In general, the
best achievement of all swimmers from Serbia was reached by Radovan Siljevski,
member of SC Partizan, Belgrade who succeeded to swim better then the 'B'
cut for the 2008 Beijing in 200 m Free Men (1:52.22)... |

THA) - On the fifth day of the swimming events at the aquatic center of
the Thammasat University, new three Games records are set at the morning
preliminaries: in the men's 400m Individual Medley, American MELLORS Patrick
Watson swam out with the new GR 4:14.10, in men's 200 m Freestyle USA swimmer
RITTER Adam James touched first with the new GR 1:48.49, while in Women's
4x100 m Medley Relay American team set the new Games Record with the time
of 4:06.11...
Among the participants
from Serbia in today's morning heats, Sebastijan Higl took
part in 400
m IM Men and was ranked 24 (of 28) with the time of 4:48.09... Danijela
Djikanovic swam out her 50
m Fly Women (28.25) and was ranked 23rd (of 56) while Radovan Siljevski
in 200
m Free Men touched 21st (of 54) with the time of 1:52.22... |

THA) - Fourth day of the swimming events at the Universiade tournament
brought new three Games records: in Men's 200m Freestyle in heat 3, USA
swimmer MCGINNIS Mathew Woodward, set new Games record 1:48.76.. In Men's
100 m Bacstrole, Germany's MEEUW Helge Folkert set new GR54.06, while in
Men's 4x200m Freestyle Relay USA team swam out the best with the new GR
7:16.35
Among the participants
from Serbia in today's morning heats, Igor Beretic swam out
100
m Back Men with the time of 0:59.90 just to the 43rd position of 53
athletes.... Danijela Djikanovic of SC Vojvodina (Novi Sad) in 100
m Backstroke Women touched 32nd of 40 participants with the time of
1:06.58...Ivan Zgomba finished his activities in Bangkok at his

THA) - Third day of the swimming events at the Universiade tournament brought
in the morning heats new three Games records: in 400 Free Women, Itallian
Federica Pellegrini swam out with the new GR 4:09.88; Rie Kaneto from Japan
in 200 m Breast Women set new GR with the time of 2:25.79 while in
4x200 m Freestyle Relay Women, the worthy American team touched first with
the new GR 8:03.22.

from Serbia in the morning heats, Igor Beretic member of Vojvodina
SC Novi Sad, swam out the 50
m Back Men with the time of 28:00 just to the 36th position of 48 athletes....

THA) - The morning heats of the Day-2 swimming events at the Bangkok 2007
brought two new Games records... In the same event, 100 Fly women, Belorussian
Aliaksandra Herasimenia touched first with the new GR 28.72 followed by
Japan's Aya Terakawa 28.92, both athletes swam out better then the previous
standard...
From the Serbian
Universiade swim squad, two athletes - students took part in the morning
prelims. Sebastijan Higl (SC Tamis, Pancevo) touched 29th of 29
athletes in 800
m Free Men with the time of 8:43.59, while
Danijela Djikanovic
(SC Vojvodina, Novi Sad) in 50
m Back Women divided 19th position with Alana Dillete from Bahrein

THA) - First six disciplines are concluded on the Day-1 of the 2007 Universiade:
men's 200m butterfly, women's 50m breast, men's 200 m breast,
women's 800 m freestyle, men's 200 m back and women's 4x100m Freestyle
Relay... In the events, five new Games records have been set at
the main venue pool of the Thammasat University:
in men's 200m Butterfly Japan's Ryusuke SAKATA (1:55.92); in men's
200 m Back stroke Austria's Markus ROGAN (1:56.66); in women's 100m Freestyle
Germany's Britta STEFFEN (54.40); in women's 800m Free Swiss
- Flavia RIGAMONTI (8:25.59) and in women's 4x100m Free Relay the
USA team (3:40.85)...
The only participant
from Serbia in the morning heats, Ivan Zgomba the member of Vojvodina
SC Novi Sad, student of the Southern Illinois, USA swam out the 200
m butterfly men. He was ranked 34th of 37 participans with the time
of 2:11.31.... |

THA)- According to the organizers, nearly 8,000 students, the athletes
between the ages of 17 - 28 from 135 nations took part in the splendid
opening ceremony of the 24th Universiade held tonight at the Rajamangala
National Stadium. From Serbia 200 participants will compete in 17 sports.
Athletes from Serbia, the next host of the games, march in to Rajamangala
Stadium during the opening ceremony in Bangkok with the special flyer "Belgrade
2009 wishes Bangkok 2007 successful games"... Thai Princess Siriwanvaree
acknowledges the crowd before lighting the games' flame... The 24th Universiade
is opened !!!

THA)- Just less then one day left until the start of the swimming competition
at the Bangkok 2007, the XXIVth Summer Universiade (August 8-18)... Among
the 17 sports, the swimming will be the most excited and is scheduled for
August 09-14... All swim events will be held at the aquatic center of the
Thammasat University. The national selection of Serbia has just arrived
Thailand, and after cancelation of Mike Cavic and Ivan Gutesa it will be
consisted of the next participants: Danijela Djikanovic, Nadja Higl, Radovan
Siljevski, Igor Beretic, Ivan Zgomba and Sebastijan Higl. Mike Cavic the
best Serbian swimmer regretably receded, because of the hurt, while I.Gutesa
