all disciplines. 5 finals and 6 semis were held. In the W 100 breast

Soni, USA caught a gold medal (1:03.98 - CR) in front of Jones, AUS
(1:04.26) and Ji, CHN (1:04.79). In the M 50 back finals, Stanislav
Donets, RUS again set a new CR (22.93). In other finals, in the M

fly finals, Albert Subirats, VEN earned gold medal with the

the Rashid Swim Complex. Just at the beginning, within the morning
heats,
the new three champs records were set by Ryan Lochte, USA in

M 200 free (1:42.38), in the M 100 breast by Fabio Scozzoli,
ITA
with the time of 57.60 and by the Russia's squad in the M 4x100
free relay (3:07.78)... Serbian competitors didn't succeed to
catch
the SFs. In the men's 100 breast Caba Siladji was DISQ, Ivan

Follow up the On Line Results of the USA SCY Championships

SUI) - FINA has rescheduled its 10K Marathon Swim World Cup in 2011,
which
will have its first race in April (in Santos, BRA), in order to provide
the necessary time for the FINA Task Force in charge of investigating
the
circumstances of the tragic loss of open water swimmer Fran Crippen
(USA),
on Oct. in UAE. The 2011 OWS season will start on January 23, with the
initial race of the Grand Prix in Rosario (ARG, 15 km). This circuit
will
have 11 stops in three continents and includes only races above 10km
(in

(USA), during the last leg of the FINA 10km Marathon, held in Fujairah
(UAE) today. Crippen, 26 years old, at Rome '09, had been bronze
medallist in the 10 km, while in 2010, at the FINA OWS Championships in
Roberval (CAN), he was also third, this time in the 5km. Crippen
graduated
in 2006 from the University of Virginia, USA where he was twice named
the
Atlantic Coast Conference Swimmer of the Year...

Delegates meeting, named Bruce W.Stratton for the position of

President. In the last two-mandate period (leaded by former USA

President Jim Wood) as well as for the previous 25 years, Stratton has
been an official and has served as a chair for a total of eight years.
He is also a member of the Olympic International Operations Committee
and
is the United States Sports Insurance Company Treasurer. He also served
on the Professional Swimming Task Force during the past year.

Argentina. The 2nd leg of the 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup
was
held in Viedma (ARG). In this event, Francis Crippen (USA)
finished
first in 1:50:57. Chad Ho (RSA), concluded 2nd in 1:51:00, while
Petar Stoychev (BUL) arrived in third place in 1:51:02. In the women’s

Winter Championships of Slovenia concluded successfully last
week-end in the town of Celje... 410 competitors from 22 domestic clubs

HKG) - Thomas Lurz (GER) and Poliana Okimoto (BRA)
continue
to dominate their respective men’s and women’s fields. Both swimmers
swept
the three Asian legs, held in Chun An (CHN) on Sept.20, Shantou (CHN)
on
Sept.26, and Hong Kong (HKG) on Oct.4... With these wins, Lurz has won
a total of eight gold medals on the World Cup series '09, while Okimoto
has a total of seven gold medals and two silver medals. The the Hong
Kong
leg included 44 swimmers (26 men and 18 women) from 15 nations... Click

An Chun, CHN)-- The FINA 10km Marathon World Cup 2009 has moved
on
to Asia, where China staged the 8th and 9th out of twelve races
in
this year’s series. The big 10km winners continue to be world champion
Thomas
Lurz (GER) in the men’s field and Poliana Okimoto (BRA)
among
women. Those athletes triumphed at both of the races, which took place
on Sept. 26 in Shantou and before that on Sept. 20 in An Chun
(CHN).
