(Rijeka, CRO) - On the Day-4 in the evening SFs and Finals, the second
medal for the Serbian swimming is assured by the great Milorad Mike
Cavic. In the 50 Fly Semis, he was ranked 5th (22.81) while in the
Final, Cavic earned Silver medal, just behind the world record hoder Leveaux
(FRA) with his NR (22.36)... Radovan Siljevski in 200 Free ranked 8th,
while two top tenth positions have been caught by Minja Najdanovski in
50 Free (24.80 NR) and Ivan Lendjer in 50 Fly (23.32 EJR)... See here bellow

(Rijeka, CRO) - On the Day-4 in the morning heats, 3 semis and 1 final
have been earned... In the 50 fly, Milorad Cavic ranked 3rd (22.70) while
Ivan Lendjer 13th (23.50). In this event France's Amaury Leveaux set the
new WR (22.18). In the men's 200 free Siljevski Radovan swam out
as 6th (NR) and assured the place directly for the final... M.Najdanovski
equaled her NR, while M.Ostojic set the new one in 200 free W. See bellow
all data.. The greatest performance of the SRB team in Rijeka!!

- Marica Strazmester and Caba Siladji, NRs and Semi-Finals...
(Rijeka, CRO) - Marica Strazmester (1981,
SRB), on the Day-3 swam out marvelous... In the morning heats she ranked
13th of 49 participant in 50 back W with the new national standard (27.93)..
In the evening SFs, group 2 (lane 1), Strazmester equaled and confirmed
the same record again 0:27.93... Caba Siladji ranked 16th in 50
breast SF with the new absolute national and junior standard (27.31)...
(Rijeka, CRO) - On the Day-3 in the morning heats, SRB squad has had again
worthy results. The best one were set by Marica Strazmester in 50
back W touching the wall with the time of 27.93 (NR) as 13th of 49 participants.
Caba siladji also earned SF in 50 breast (27.33). Danijela Djikanovic
was ranked 22nd (LBT) in 50 back - 28.31. Women's 4x50 Medlay Relay team
set the new national standard...

- Milorad Cavic, Gold ER (49.19) - Ivan Lendjer 6th (50.47)...
(Rijeka, CRO) - On the Day-2 - in the evening finals, Milorad Mike Cavic,
the best Serbian swimmer ever, the silver medalist from the Beijing 2008
Olympics, picked up the Gold medal in 100 Butterfly with the time of 0:49.19
(the new European SC record and 2nd best time ever in the world)... Ivan
Ledjer was ranked 6th in Europe with the time of 0:50.47 (the new National
Junior record, also the new European Junior record)... Congratulations
from the swim mates of Belgrade!!!
(Rijeka, CRO) - On the Day-2 of the European SC Champs, the morning heats
at the Kantrida pool brought more new marvelous results of the Serbian
national team. Danijela Djikanovic (SC Vojvodina) in 50 fly set the new
absolute national standard (0:27.30). Miroslava Najdanovski (SC Proleter)
in 100 Ind.Medley swam out near LBT (1:03.79); Boris Stojanovic (SC Vojvodina)
has made new LBT in 100 free (49.22), while in the same discipline R.Siljevski
(SC Partizan) was disqualified. Nadja High (SC Tamis) touched 23rd of 35
athletes in 200 breast (2:29.52)..

- Marvelous swimming of the Serbian Squad on Thursday...
(Rijeka, CRO) - On the Day-1 evening finals five Serbian swimmers took
part in the semi-finals... Radovan Siljevski swam out worthy in 50 free
(21.94), Marica Strazmester again broke her previous NR in 100 back swimming
out to the 14th position (1:00.14), Milorad Cavic and Ivan Lendjer caught
the finals in the men's 100 fly with the times 0:50.62 and 0:50.98 (LBT)
respectively. Minja Najdanovski equaled her LBT in 100 free (0:54.03) by
repeating the morning heat's rank (11th)...
(Rijeka, CRO) - On the Day-1 of the European SC Championships, the morning
heats brought marvelous times of the nine swimmers of the Serbian national
team. Five Semi Finals (Cavic, Lendjer, Strazmester, Najdanovski and Siljevski)
with five Absolute and Junior standards make the present balance..

for the new WRs, ERs, ECRs, NRc, LBTs - in Rijeka...
(Rijeka, CRO) - In spite the fact that up to now, 67 Long Course world
records were broken in 2008 as well as 37 Short Course (20 men's and 17
women's standards), the actual records of the European Short Course Championships
are still valid. The Organizing Committee of the Rijeka 2008 has issued
the sheets with the review of all valid times (the men's and women's separately)...
Do the technology bodysuits, the "vitamins", an excellent conditions by
the new pool Kantrida in Rijeka, some other "secrets", or just hard works
of trainers and their athletes and the swimmer's experiences can
provide new EC, ER, WR standards, all will see. But the "Swimming Revolution"
is at its beginning, there is no doubt.

- Chives announced that everything is ready...
(Rijeka, CRO) - Just two days stay left until the "big bang" - the start
of the 12th European Short Course Swimming Champs in Rijeka..
At the ceremonial press conference held yesterday, the main persons of
the Organizing Board expressed their satisfactions. Tomislav Karlo
Secretary General of the Croatian Swimming Federation and the Director
of the Championships, mentioned that this LEN Competition will gather more
then 530 competitors from 40 countries, and something more, 9 Olympic medalists
from the recent Beijing 2008 Games..
The head of the City of Rijeka, Vojko Obersnel said that everything
is ready for the Champs to start, while the City Assembly is proud to host
the biggest European swim event within the new Swim & Water Polo
complex Kantrida... Luciano Susanj the OC president underlined:
"I believe that everything would be great, but more of that I believe that
the CRO competitors will do their best."

(Rijeka, CRO) - The team of the host country, the Croatia will be one of
the most numerous in Rijeka. 31 athletes are entered in almost all
events...
Among the men, Duje Draganja, world champion and the best Croatian swimmer
ever will lead the next men's squad: Dominik Straga, Marko Strahija, Niksa
Roki, Mario Todorovic, Sasa Impric, Bruno Barbic, Ante Cvitkovic, Mario
Delac, Gordan Kozulj, Vanja Rogulj, Sasa Gerbec, Ivan Tolic, Ivan Perhat,
Nikola Delic, Igor Cerensek, Aleksej Puninski, Hrvoje Capan, Ivan Bilic,
Erazmo Marsanic i Michael Kostesic.
The CRO women's squad is consisted of Anja Trisic, Smiljana Marinovic,
Lidija Franic, Sanja Jovanovic, Monika Babok, Maja Pavlovic, Ivana Pijanovic,
Matea Peteh, Zeljana Knezevic i Adrijana Bencic.

will host the European Champs in Rijeka...
(Rijeka, CRO) - Within the complex of the new fantastic Kantrida pool in
Rijeka, the Organizing Board of the European Short Course Championships
made today a special photo shoot of all volunteers and children participating
in the opening ceremony. As it was marked in the media promotion,
the volunteers should present the valuable symbol of this event, like it
is praxis all over the world within the organization of large and important
sports events... More then 350 volunteers mostly from Rijeka and the region
will be engaged.
Rijeka Sport's Association in cooperation with the Association for the
Development of Civil Society SMART are also engaged in the organization
and creation of the volunteers' program for the 2008 European Championships.
Many famous Croatian athletes joined the organization, such as Sandro Gulja,
bocce player, former swimmers and coaches Damir Zivkovic and Ferdinad Hitrec,
the sports family Smilovic – swimmer Leo Cuculic and many others...

12th edition of the European Short Course Championships will gathered 530
competitors from 40 nations (281 male swimmers and 249 females). In total,
the competition will have 1487 starts.
The national federations which send the numerous competitors are: Italy

(30); Denmark (26); The Netherlands (23); Ukraina (20); Switzerland (19),

The PSS officials have announced the final roster of the National team
for the upcoming 2008 European Short Course Championships being held at
the new Kantrida Aquatic center in the City of Rijeka, Croatia from
11 to 14 of December 2008.
The national selection of Serbia for the 12th Euro SC Championships will

Fly); Ivan Lendjer (50 & 100 Fly), Caba Siladji (50 & 100
Breaststroke); Radovan Siljevski (200 free); Miroslava Najdanovski
