The Education of non-swimmers, SRB...(Publication)

(Krusevac, SRB) - Issued by the Swimming Association of Central Serbia, one valuable swimming publication has appeared these days, written by Prof.Dr.Tomislav Okicic and the colleagues from Faculty of Sport, University of Nis. "The affects of the different educational programs of non-swimmers on the swim knowledge acceptance" - a  design-project that can be useful for every club and its beginners. It is written in the Serbian Cyrillic only (300 copies pressed) but it can be transferred in Latin, also translated upon requests. Add info:office@pscs.org.yu

Dzivdzan 2008 Youth talents Meeting, SRB...(Results)

(Belgrade, SRB) - This past week-end, the Belgrade has hosted the Int'l Youth Talents Meeting "Dzivdzan 2008". More the 430 youth athletes born in 1992 and younger (34 teams) from Slovenia (1), Bosnia & Herzegovina (1), Bulgaria (1), FYROM (5) and Serbia (26), took part in 2-day events. Feniks 2008 Int'l AG Meeting, SRB...(Results)
Sombor
(Sombor, SRB) - Occupied with the Euro 2008 Champs, we forgot to issue the report from the worth International Meeting "Feniks 2008" held in Sombor,Serbia. About 300 competitors from Bulgaria, Hungary, Croatia and Serbia (21 clubs) took part in the events. Far best team winner was the "Briz", Bulgaria (13 gold, 11 silver and 3 bronze medals), followed by SC Becej (SRB) and SC Novi Sad (SRB). (Rijeka, CRO) - On the Day-4 in the evening SFs & Fs, the second medal for the SRB swimming is assured by the great Milorad Cavic. In 50 Fly Semis, he was ranked 5th (22.81) while in the Final, Cavic earned Silver medal  with his LBT (22.36)... Radovan Siljevski in 200 Free M ranked 8th, while two 10th positions have been caught by Najdanovski in 50 Free W (24.80 NR) and Lendjer in 50 Fly (23.32 EJR)... Watch out the complete data.

Three SFs & One Final for SRB - Rijeka Day - 4...
Rijeka
(Rijeka, CRO) - On the Day-4 in the morning heats, 3 semis and 1 final have been earned... In the 50 fly, Milorad Cavic ranked 3rd (22.70) while Ivan Lendjer 13th (23.50). In this event France's Amaury Leveaux, FRA set the new WR (22.18). In the men's 200 free Siljevski  swam out as 6th (NR) and assured the place directly for the final. M.Najdanovski equaled her NR  in 50 free W, while M.Ostojic set the new one in 200 free W...The greatest performance of the SRB team in Rijeka!!

(Rijeka, CRO) - On the Day-2 within the evening finals, from the lane 2, Milorad Mike Cavic, the best Serbian swimmer ever, the silver medalist from the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, succeeded to pick up a Gold medal in the men's 100 butterfly with the time of 0:49.19 (the new European short course record and 2nd best time ever in the world). Ivan Ledjer (1990) was ranked 6th in 100 fly with the time of 0:50.47 (the new National Junior record, also the new men's European Junior record)... Congratulations from the swim mates of Belgrade!!!

(Rijeka, CRO) - On the Day-2 of the Euro SC Champs, the morning heats brought more new marvelous results of the SRB team. Danijela Djikanovic  in 50 fly set the new national record (0:27.30). Miroslava Najdanovski  in 100 IMy swam out near LBT (1:03.79); B.Stojanovic has made new LBT (life best time) in 100 free (49.22), while in the same discipline R.Siljevski was disqualified. Nadja High in 200 breast touched 23rd (2:29.52)..

Central European Countries Junior Meet - concluded ...

(Prague, CZE) - The Podoli pool, the biggest, and most popular, swim complex in Prague hosted the multination junior meet this past week-end.. The Central European Countries Junior Meeting 2008 gathered the national selections of POL, SLO, HUN, SRB, CZE, SVK, FYROM and ROU... From SRB team, three 4th positions were  caught by Stefan Sorak in 400 free (4:04.80) and in 1,500 free (16:24.77) and Mila Jovanov in 100-m fly (1:05.91). Fans & Friends - In Remembrance of EJC 2008...
(Belgrade, SRB) - The 35th edition of the European Junior Swimming Championships was held in Belgrade, SRB by the popular Tasmjadan pool (Jul. 30 - Aug.03)... 40 European countries with about 600 athletes took part in 5-day event.

The SWIM STAR WEB PORTAL was the only web media that covered the complete program with the results and picture galleries from the Belgrade 2008. All about the Euro Junior Champs 2008, were already presented at the our Web Blog (up to Oct. 01 with more then 84.000 clicks)... But, nobody could explain the events behind the scene (prior and after the races) and the fantastic joining at the tribune of the Tasmajdan pool, Belgrade. For all of them in remembrance to their staying in the Serbia's Capital, here is our Special Gallery from the Belgrade 2008.

Prospective SRB Olympians in Leeds, Great Britain...
(Leeds, UK) - As part of the Serbian Olympic team with the candidates for the London 2012, swim squad with five swimmers and 2 coaches spent 10 days at the Leeds aquatic center for a small preparations. The John Charles Centre in Leeds was opened in 2007. (Belgrade, SRB) - After he earned the worthy Bachelor degree in the USA (Olivet College, MI) on May 2008, Igor Rasula, Journalist and the Editor-in-Chief of our SWIM STAR WEB PORTAL, left Belgrade this afternoon for his upcoming Masters education.. Full granted by the European Council and the EU, Igor is admitted for the Erasmus Mundus Masters Program in Journalism and Media within Globalization. First semester will be spent at the elite Danish School of Journalism, next one at the University of Amsterdam, while for the second year Igor will be at the University of Wales (Great Britain). Master thesis which Igor already has chosen will consider "War and Conflicts"... More great swim news our visitors might  expect from Denmark, the Netherlands as well as from  the British Swimming and all round the Europe!!!

In the Men's 100 m Fly final Milorad Mike Cavic (1984), touched 2nd  with the time of 50.59 in just 1/100 seconds behind M.Phelps to earn silver Olympic Medal. This was also his LBT, European Record and the National record.  Phelps and Cavic battled it out in the last 50m.
