Just a day until the end of the 1st FINA World Youth Swim Championships, really fantastic emotions can be picked up here from Rio de Janeiro. Considering the complete competition and the organization, the Brazilians did their best. This is the nice overture for the upcoming Pan American Games 2007 being held also in Rio, the next evet in Brazil. In the Youth Swimming, FINA inlays more then previous years. In this inaugural World Youth Swim Champs, 50 countries have been entered. Unfortunately it could be seen that few main swim countries are absent (Australia, Japan, Hungary...), USA with just 8 competitors, etc. The Serbian National team with 5 competitors did a great job. Ivan Lendjer /1990, member of SC Proleter, Zrenjanin/, the winner of the Gold medal in 100 Fly will be signed with the golden letters in our swim history.... And all others are coming back home with the National Records or the LTB as well as with the worthy places in Semi Finals and Finals. But we shall wait until the Sunday to say something more... Two last chances for the second medal for Serbian team still exist...
